Yep. Loads of guitar practise.

Slow progress, but it has to be done.

Sunday, 26 June 2016

As in, I feel a bit down as I have to give up a chunk of my weekend to travel for work.

But on the upside, I have some coding done, and guitar playing is coming on nicely!

And the ticket is purchased

Yep, the ticket has been purchased - hope to see you at the wrestling.

What else?

Well, I've finished working through "Learning Perl", done a bit of PHP, HTML, Ruby and JavaScript, been trying to work out what training to try and get work to pay for (Java certification?!) and generally being great.

Also got plans for the podcast, website, YouTube channels (yes, plural) and working on an application form.

When do I find the time?!

Summer on its way?

So, a gentle Bank Holiday weekend, but with a bit of computer work in the middle - mainly tinkering with a bit if database work, nothing major.

Weather is pretty good this morning.

Coding and webbing

Yeah, so I've got a basic Loqualia site together now- still got to pull the main content together, but the skeleton is there and is looking nice and clean.

I've also uploaded a little perl script to a github project, MailDog

Oh yeah, I've also been doing the whole podcast bit, guitar bit and magic bit, too.

On top of other stuff!

Loqualia site in development

Great news! I have a development site for Loqualia which I hope to tinker with over the coming weeks.

The concept has moved on a little, but it's now simpler, so hopefully it can contribute something positive to the world.

Qualified success

Yes, I am now TOGAF qualified. Very nice.

I've also started drawing up user stories for FastTap (see Github), and sketching out the layout for Loqualia, which will probably be built on Google Sites to start off with.

Errr, also working through Learning Perl (great book) and some stuff on Ruby.

As ever, busy busy busy.

Track up on Bandcamp here.

Of databases and mortal men

So, today has been a particularly odd one.

I have managed to install MongoDB on a couple of machines, set up Windows 10 on a laptop (ugh! HOW MANY potentially privacy intrusions?!), fail to set up Neo4j and fail to set up Cassandra.

Next I need to try Couchbase - oh, and find a simple to use MongoDB GUI for ease.

But I'm getting there.

And oh yeah, I've also managed to get my head around a fair amount of Dart programming.

And still it moves on

Right, I promised an update, so here it is.

Quick change of font for this one, just to make things a bit more exciting and interesting...

Podcast has been edited and uploaded (here), so if you are interested in WWE/Wrestling give it a shot. I promise it will get better as we do more!

At some point this week I intend to start grabbing some footage for both my horror short and the new Ghostlight TV project which I'm hoping to get up and running this year.

I've also been working on the Epimetric github pages, mainly just adding some data sources, but in the background I've also been toying with various database options and stuff and think I have a way forward.

I need to work on a couple of other bits, too, though, like writing for a website/project (it's been months!), and trying to launch a write-it-yourself local news project.

As and when I will update - as ever with a new year the intentions are good - hence the blog updates - including magic and guitar practise.

One can but try!

More to come

First post of 2016. More to come.
